Parents, 

On Tuesday, December 10th we will be attending the Celebrate the Season performance at the main campus. Celebrate the Season is an annual performance that highlights our performing arts students. All students will need to be dropped off at the main campus by 8:10am.  If your child typically starts their day at the main campus please follow the instructions of their teacher. Students will be bused back to the Freshman Campus at the completion of the performance.  We will use the following schedule for the remainder of the day:

Semester exams begin on Monday, December 16th.  Please read the following information with important details about exam week to ensure your child is prepared. 

Students are not required to attend school for class periods that do not give a semester exam. Parents are not required to physically come in and check a child out after an exam IF you complete the exam week check out form. 

By completing the form you are giving permission for your child to leave school after his/her exam period each day. You are also giving permission for your child not to attend school during class periods in which he/she does not have a scheduled exam. 

If you do not complete this form your student will be required to remain at school for the remainder of the day or you will have to come in the building to check out your child.


If your child has an illness during exam week, call the school immediately (205.402.5300) and contact the teacher of the exam. All other absences must be pre-approved by completing this form. Students who do not show up for an exam without notifying the school or completing the pre-excused absence form will have an unexcused absence for the exam date. Students may not take an exam outside of their scheduled time unless they have received approval by completing a pre-approved absence form. 


Students must remain in their classroom for the entire testing period. Students should bring a book or other study material to use if they finish their exam prior to the end of the testing period. 

Lunch will be served during exam week.


Teachers will have afternoon exam review sessions by appointment. Your child must contact the teacher to schedule a time between 1:20 and 3:20. Students who do not have a scheduled appointment with a teacher and do not check out will go to the library during the exam review period. 


Exams must be completed by 3:20 on Friday, December 20th.
